Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2nd in 1985) was an American actor. Most famously, she is Molly Solverson from the FX TV series Fargo in the first season. She has also received nominations for Emmys & Golden Globes. Early life and education Tolman is the oldest of two brothers as well as a younger sister. The family relocated to England into Sugar Land, Texas, when she was an infant. Before moving to Sugar Land in Texas, she spent five years living in Oklahoma and West Texas. As a ten-year-old actress, she began acting in the Fort Bend Community Theatre. Clements High School in Clements, Texas. The school graduated her with a certificate in the year 2000. She earned her degree from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatrical performance. After graduation from college and moving to Dallas which is where she started The Second Thought Theatre. The career of Tolman began in 2014 in which she played the protagonist of FX's black comedy-crime series Fargo. Inspired by The 1996 Coen brothers film of the same title, Fargo starred veteran actors Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman as well as Bob Odenkirk. Tolman received praise for her portrayal of Minnesota Police Officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair said that Tolman "calmly and assuredly stole" the film. She won the Critics' Choice Television Award as Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries and was also nominated for Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her role. It was also in the same year that it was revealed that Tolman will make an appearance on The Mindy project on the show as Abby Berman who is a romance author. She had a role as an actor in Michael Dougherty's movie about horror Krampus. Tolman was turned down for character roles as supporting actors such as best friends, wives, and mothers following her first big role on Fargo. The actress was searching for a unique role. Tolman was a part of the ABC drama series Downward Dog in 2017, based on Animal Media Group's website series. It was cancelled after one season. In addition, she starred on the ABC drama show Emergence that began airing on September 24, 2019 it was cancelled following one season on May 21 the 21st of May, 2020. The show received "pretty good" ratings according to Tolman via Twitter. Also, she was a guest star on the show on NBC called Good Girls.
